How to download Instagram videos and Reels on Android

Copy the Reel or video link

Open the individual Instagram Reel or video post you want to save. Look for Copy link in the sharing menu. If you use Instagram in a browser, copy the post address from the address bar. A profile or search-page link is not enough to identify a video.

Download videos you own or have permission to save. The post must be public and accessible without signing in. Photos, Stories, Highlights and private posts are not supported. InstaHub does not ask for your Instagram password.

Download with Chrome on Android

1. Open the browser. Visit InstaHub.me in Chrome. If you arrived through a link inside another app, open the website directly in your phone’s browser.
2. Paste the address. Tap the link field and paste the complete post link. Keep just the address, without extra chat messages that may have been copied along with it.
3. Prepare the video. Select the permission checkbox and choose Download free. The site checks the post and shows a preview when retrieval succeeds.
4. Start the download. Choose Download MP4 below the preview. A temporary tab prepares the transfer. Confirm the browser’s save prompt if one appears.
5. Check the result. Wait for completion and open the saved video from your phone’s downloads. Playing the preview on the page does not save a local copy.

Find the MP4 on Android

Open Chrome’s menu and look for Downloads. You can also use the Files app or your phone’s file manager to locate the video in its download location. The interface can vary with the device and address-bar position. Chrome’s official Android download guide.

Look for a filename beginning with instagram- and ending in .mp4. The code in the name identifies the post, so videos with similar captions can still have different filenames. Sort the folder by date to find your latest download.

The video downloaded but is missing from Gallery

Check the file manager first. Gallery, Google Photos and manufacturers’ photo apps can display different collections. A video missing from the main photo screen does not necessarily mean its download failed.

Open the MP4 from Downloads and check that it plays. Use Share to open it in the app you want. If your Gallery app lets you browse device folders, check Downloads there too. Moving or copying the saved file does not improve its quality and does not require retrieving it from Instagram again.

If the file will not save or play

For an interrupted transfer, check your connection and free storage before retrying. If the file appears incomplete, allow the browser to finish downloading before opening it. If retrieval fails before the preview appears, copy the post link again and confirm that the content is still public.
